Hurray for all of you staying in Ireland in 2013, for you shall be rewarded with a great treat. Son of West Tisbury, Massachusetts, Willy Mason shall be playing in Whelans in Dublin on March 14th and in the Limelight, Belfast the following night which should act as the perfect warm up to St Patrick’s day festivities if you are that way inclined of course.
Willy broke on the scene back in 2004 when he released a simply beautiful album by the name of ‘Where the Humans Eat’ which received much critical acclaim. Signature tracks included ‘Oxygen’ and ‘So Long’, the former you can see below:
Three years later, he released ‘If the Ocean Gets Rough’ which, again, was quite well received and show cased him developing his sound to be something a bit tighter and well polished without losing the main thrust of his ‘message’. The best known number would have to be ‘We Can Be Strong’, which is my favorite of his songs, one that always picks me up and makes me feel great about life in general, as he does all the time with everything he touches (warning, man crush!).
Willy is touring to coincide with his third studio release ‘Carry On’ which I have not had the pleasure to hear as of yet, but once I do I will update you all sure.
